Can I purchase a car with a salvaged title either from Texas or another state and still get insurance coverage on it?

The cars I'm currently looking at are operable but the titles as of now are salvaged.

Once you get a valid title for a car you can get insurance for it.

A salvaged title is a title created when a junk car is restored to operating condition or when junk is assembled to create a working car. A title is a title, and when you have a title (proof of ownership) then you can get it insured.

Of course the car will have to pass state inspection before it can be insured as well as the emission test (unless the car is a restored car that was made before 1980). Once it has passed inspection and therefore can be legally driven then you HAVE to get insurance to drive the car.

If you have a non operating car that you have salvaged, then you don't need insurance for it until it is drive-able. If the non drivable car is of high value like a piece or art then it can be insured under property insurance, not auto insurance. In that case a title is not required.

Yes you can. Salvage cars are just worth less money when resold. Insurance will cover them.
