okay so when i was young, really young. like 9. i took tae kwon do (i take tang soo do now, ive been practicing for ten years, im 19) and we did alot of board braking (darned Mc,dojos)

anyway my small finger on my right hand became malformed. it does not bend properly. in any case it hurts sometimes and only really poses a problem when doing moves when i need to pull it back. i love board braking right now but i always try to be careful with it, and of course take it easy.

as a martial artist, do you thin i should get my finger fixed. the doc says it requirs extensive surgery and re'alignment of my bone. and it will take 3 months to recover fully and get back to my normal ruitene. now im someone who practices EVERY SINGLE DAY. (he also said it was not neccisary unless i plan on getting competetive in board braking or i could make it worse)

would you do it?

Got a few things that dont bend properly but iv just let it go, other people will probably give you some better advice but i always went with the philosophy that if you leave it alone for long enough it will go away

malformed things from doing martial arts are cool, and little fingers are close to useless and not worthy of surgery in my opinion, and besides you should watch out with doctors, when your only tool is a hammer.... most doctors wont suggest much of anything else except surgery, and before surgery there are so many other things to look into like chiropractic, physio and even accupunchure

I think it depends on what you do for a living or are thinking about doing. Sometimes problems like these can get worse with time or keep you from pursuing or doing certain jobs or careers in the future. I also think it depends on how much longer you plan on doing martial arts and if it will affect you in other ways besides board breaking. Since you are only 19 I would play it safe and get the surgery. The problem could get worse or cause you additional problems down the road and all that could be avoided by having it taken care of now. Also since it would be a pre-existing condition your future health insurance as a working adult may not cover treatment or surgery if you do have problems down the road.

Sorry you had a bad experience whe you wer younger and your body is paying the price.

I'd say if it doesn't hurt 99% of the time and you have no intention of getting into serious breaking competitions, let it go. Personally, I'd find a way around surgery because I hate hospitals.

as quickly as you have bled the brakes totally and there is not any brake fluid leaks and the brakes are adjusted up top, the only different rationalization for the pedal to flow to the floor is with the help of a bad "grasp brake cylinder" which mounts on the front of your great flying saucer shaped vacuum potential brake booster below the motive force's section hood.
