I want to travel back to my country for 2 months. so when I take a test to become US citizen, they'll subtract 2 months from 5 years, right? It likes I will have an interview on 10/30/09, but because I left the US for 2 months, so my interview will be on 12/30/09. Is that right or you guys have any source I can reference. Thank you so much

No they should not subtract anything.

However, who knows may be by the year 2009 INS laws will change.

As I remember my process through the INS they asked us not to travel while going through the process of becoming legal. So If I were you I would stick here. O"r yu would have to go through the whole paper work again, and pay again the fee's. Ask an Immigration attorney. But If I were you I would stay here until it's finished. Good luck!

No, you don't get an automatic new date, you have to set one if you won't be there. Go to uscis.gov, they have the formula for what to do with time out of the country (search 'naturalization').
