God never changes. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. GOd is a God of love and a God of wrath, but even the wrath is from Love. When God sends someone to hell, He ddidnt really do it. The person chose that by rejecting God. and God has no choice. What would HE do,let them in HEaven with those of Him saved ppl? They woudl bring all the same destruction, violence, and sheer horros of sin to heaven , just like they do here NOW. God will end sin because He loves us so much, and HE will protect His ppl from those that would never accept Him. Not only that, they wouldnt like Heaven anyhow, as they would say its too nice there. BUt I assure you they wont like hell either. BUt by then, its too late . Its our choice to serve GOd or the devil, God is clear about that. ALl HE does, includings when He shows His wrath is from the love He has for us.
God is a GOd of love, oh yes, but a vengeful God too.
Arent you glad HE is??? Sure wouldnt want those folks in Heaven that wouldnt obey God, they would ruin it for the rest of us. But, we cant give up on them. Till JEsus comes, we must continue praying , living truth, speaking truth and trying to lead as many as we can to God before its too late. But, it is still their choice to hear and obey or reject Him and suffer His wrath. Great question Jay.

Yes, i believe He is both,
It is important to know that God is very much balance, if He is just a God of love you will not know the consequences of not following His love, so he has to be the God of wrath as well to give the balance for His love.

He is absolutely a God of perfect love and PERFECT wrath.

As a Christian, I have accepted amnesty from God's wrath as a reward for my faith in his son.

God does NOT change. He has always offered grace to mankind, which is why he chose Abraham - who was a disobedient pagan; but who lived and operated by faith.

It say's in the Bible the Great and terrible GOD. NE 1:5 Many people want to pass this up, or go into deep denial! this does not mean he is not merciful, because it also say's he is very patient, longsuffering. PS 86:15 But thou, OLord art a GOD full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Depends on who you daddy is, if your God is the Lord from Heaven, your father in Heaven, then it is obvious he loves you because God is LOVE, but this doesn't mean he won't punish you as your earthly fathers did; Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
But this same God allows Satan to have children and these children believe Satan is God and the Lord from Heaven is evil, they also believe evil is good and good is evil.
What they do not understand is just as Lucifer self destructed so do the Devils children destroy themselves with any means possible. The Devil is a lier and the father of lies, he is a killer and ruler of Hell and he made himself the enemy of God. So do his children without realizing the truth.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
God never changes,Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Satan changes and so do Satan's children always change;
1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

I don't know about now, but I grew up in a hard shell Southern Baptist church, and from early childhood all I heard was the Christian God was mad at all of us for what happened to his only son, and that we (my mother's finger waving in my face in rage-like I did it to him) are nothing but squalid wretches that he was just waiting for an excuse to hit us (again the finger waggles in my face) with lightening and send us (the finger stops waving and waggling and a controlled pointing device has become of her index finger that begins to pound my forehead) STRAIGHT TO HELL! So whether or not God is love, I can't answer that. I've never known about a loving God! Sorry I can only answer on the wrath question and the answer is YES!

Yes, read Hebrews 13:8. He is perfectly balanced. He is a God of love, and a God of wrath.

Basically this is what the bible tells us:
God creates a hundred billion galaxies, and then specially visits Earth to hover over John Doe's shoulder, reading his mind waiting for him to have an evil or un-worshipful thought, at which point he then makes a little notation on John's scorecard.
(He does this 24 hours a day 365 days a year, for John's entire life.) Also keep in mind God does this for every single living being in the Universe.
But lets rejoin John.
God neglects to protect John and John gets hit by a bus, God then pulls out John's scorecard from the spot where he keeps it with the other 500 trillion scorecards (The Galaxy's big don't forget), and proceeds to condemn John who lived on Earth for only 60 years to a eternity (That's an infinite forever) of hell and damnation.

I think I would have to conclude that the christian god is a vain, petty, jealous, wrathful god to which every aspect of love is foreign.
