The phrase is "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God"
These are those who come to God as humble suppliants, realizing they have nothing about them to commend themselves to God, but come like beggars to a generous King, who receives them graciously because of their lowliness and reverence.

Mat 5:3 Blessed [are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Huge difference between Spirit and Mind. The word used is "pneuma" the rational spirit, the power by which the human being feels, thinks, decides
It is not the mind. It is the force that animates the body and charges the mind. The verse could be translated. "God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them. "

Jesus said "poor in spirit" not of mind. Which bible are you using? the KJV, ASV, GNB all say "spirit". The original Greek is also "spirit" (pneuma).
