I would say you should find out , if they will allow you, what knid of TV they have & the remote. The 2 TVs may have been set up with the same number programmed into the remotes. It COULD be possible, but I'm not 100% sure.

Possible but not very likely. Most tv remotes use light signals and it's pretty hard for those to make it through walls.
It is "remotely" possible you both may have a control system using radio signals but I have never heard of such a thing being marketed, and don't think it would be practical if it were.

Years ago my neighbor .brother in law
bought a SONY BETA VCR
I went out and bought the same model
I would wait for him to start watching his wrestling videos
and then press RECORD causing the prerecorded tape to eject
So yeah its possible if the remotes use the same codes
and your TV is in a direct line or a reflected line of sight
to your neighbor

yes its quite possible if your tv is viewable by your neighbour through their window .there are remote which can do that which work for all tvs. have you seen home alone 3? cause in that this happens
