No it's your job to look the car over before you buy it. You can't expect them to know every scratch on a car and point it out to you.

The words "as-Is" means just that..... "sold as-is". You signed paperwork acklowledging you understand the dealer is not promising or implying any future work. This is typically referred to as a "DUE BILL" in your paperwork. If dealer agreed to fix a scratch as part of the deal it would have been disclosed on the "due bill".
A used car has normal wear and tear and a judge would probably agree that a "scratch" on the bumper qualifies. Now if the tranny falls out that is a different story.
I purchased a new car recently and there were some scratches. I made them put it on the contract to have it fixed at a later date.

Nope. The car is yours, scratch and all. The dealer is under no obligation to disclose any information about the car to you. It is the buyers responsibility to perform due diligence and determine the condition of a vehicle before the sale. Once you've taken ownership, it's too late.

Sorry. I`m afraid the car is yours, and the dealer is not liable. If you entered into a contract to purchase it, and the photo revealed the scratch, and was bought as-is, according to law everything is legal. You would have to prove deception to have any legal recourse. However, contact your county attorney to see if your state has any laws concerning purchase time. SOME states give a time period in which you can back out, on SOME types of purchase agreements, such as insurance policys, etc.

well if you sold a tv with a scratch on the back side on ebay and you showed pictures of it (front and back w/scratch) and then the person who bought it wanted you to buy them a new tv case (plastic) and have it repaired at a shop how would you feel? Take it like a man and suck it up . you bought a car with a scratch on it... at that you bought a used car... NOT a NEW car... expect a perfect car when it is new... not a used one. did you get a discount on it from the new sticker price ? . sorry to be alittle mean but buyer be ware... or at least aware of what your buying.

You seen the scratch an know your saying even though you knew the scratch was there with pictures you have of it before you brought the car.that he was to disclose the stratch an it sold as-is I would say he has a good case if you took him to court.

usually when their sold as is its up to the buyer to look it over real good, and find any faults in it,once you pay for it and take it off the lot usually they wont repair anything like this,so this one probably isn't going to be covered,if they do cover it it will be a rare occasion, good luck ,hope this helps.
