You can start introducing very moist food about 5 weeks. She will continue to nurse for weeks after this, just not as much as the food intake increases. I don't ever recommend giving away a kitten before 8 weeks. They need that security of mom and their siblings and the interaction to become well adjusted cats. I usually wait until they are 10 weeks, and most reputable breeders will also. I don't breed, but I do rescue.

I think that kittens are suppose to be fed at least 6 weeks by their mother. I have had my kittens for 3 months, and they are still occasionally feeding off their mother but they have been eating cat food ever since they were at least 3 or 4 weeks old.

At the very least 6 weeks, at 8 weeks, they should be weaned and eating on their own before they can be taken from their mother. U can gradually start feeding them kitten foods at about 5 weeks while they r still nursing, mother will cut back at about 6 wks and they r on their own at 8 weeks.
Never take or give away a kitten under 8 wks old unless it is orphaned.

To be totally socialized, kittens would desire to stay with the mum and muddle friends for no less than 12 weeks - possibly as low as 10 weeks even even though it is going to matter upon the kitten. removing kittens previously this could just about constantly product habit issues in the 1st year of the kitten's lifestyles. that's fairly perplexing to tell the age of a youthful kitten. the terrific way is basically to properly known while the kitten replace into born - sorry, yet it incredibly is the only thank you to truly pin it down.

I would have to say no less then six weeks..... but for the most part if you are worried that the kitten is too old then take it to the vet or usually the mother will reject them after sometime and will refuse to feed them. Good luck

She'll wean them starting at 8 weeks or 2 months old, but they'll still try to as long as she keeps producing milk, but never longer than 3 months.
