I personally believe that god is not a personification; he cannot actually create miracles at a whim but is instead some creative force of the universe that allows things to organize and become systematic. Anyone else's thoughts?

By the WAY, I have been to church and have read the bible. One of the reasons I left is because christians are generally not the nice people they make themselves out to be. Full of backstabbers and sadists, in their private lives. The bible is making far too much money and power, and for that reason I believe it to be a great money making tool that has hypnotized a great deal of people. The message it brings is a good one, that of to better yourself, but the second you take it as anything more than a collection of stories, thats where the church begins to control your very thought process. I think all of you Christians who are so intent on "converting" me and look down on me because of my views should take a good long look at the bible you say you know so well. It is a very inconsistent storybook. By god I do not mean the christian god, or the "force" from star wars, but rather something more like the opposite of a natural disaster, with a conscience.

probably doesn't exist as such. when you say 'some creative force of the universe that allows things to organize and become systematic', i think of gravity, electromagnetism, natural selection or similar forces and processes yet undiscovered - i see no reason to call those things god.

There is lot of misconception about god people have created. God is a great force without any physical features and characters and is not cheap to come down and help somebody and punish somebody else. It is a great giver and have provided each man with a destiny to be happy or suffer in the world. He cannot be influenced by attending, offering prayers, flattery or offerings or calling obscenities at Him.

I once found that what ever I do finally I suffer by some unknown force and lost everything in life at the same time get unexpected reliefs. I also turned to be an atheists and then again a believer. And understood what I have mentioned above.

Here is the difference between a "scientific theory" and your theory, which christians love to misinterpret, even though they know there is a difference.
Ask yourself, why MUST there be any ONE deity/force/energy responsible for the universe?
The concept of one being having that much power is attractive to those who born to follow, and need an ultimate leader, a ficticious "theoretical" one in this case.

Stick with "scientific theories" which can offer evidence and are verifiable, and get your head out of the clouds..
The REAL world needs a lot of work, so that's where our minds should all be..
Nothing wrong with considering the "ultimate" questions, but claiming to have ultimate answers is egocentric, arrogant and dishonest.

That reminds me a bit of pantheism, with a smattering of deism.
Interesting point of view.

I can not acknowledge a personal god because there is no evidence that one exists. I see the organizing elements of the universe as related to physical laws only (such as gravity), no creators or intelligence necessary. I also think all meaning is intrinsic to the human experience, not an extrinsic part of reality.

I believe that God encompasses all that there is. His light is the divine spark seen in all artistic talents and in all souls. Yet, he is also personal and there just for me. I do believe he has the power to help, create, answer, hinder or any other action he deems to take. His truth can be found everywhere, if we are looking for it,and can be heard in all the different ways people believe in him. He is our hope and light. Without him we would cease to be. We are all one through God.

Sounds to me that you've created your own God. If you are acceping of the idea that there may be a God, don't you want to find out who He actually is instead of fabricating one. I suggest the Bible. God bless!!

"god" is simply a collection of unkown physical and chemical laws that govern the universe. god once was the force that brought things down, but now it is the law of gravity. honestly, that is all the argument of "uncaused cause" proves. It doesn't prove it is loving, or kind or powerful, just that is is a bunch of scientific laws we have not discovered yet, so the argument of ignorance is used.

"Luke, use the force..."

Like that?

Your god is too small. ; )

At some point it is not enough for a man that God exist, but God must also be Holy.

I believe that humans invented God to explain what we don't understand and to give them comfort. The belief in God lessens the fear of dying because believing in heaven is more comforting than believing that we will rot in the ground when we die

I have no theory about God. I know Him personally. I know what He likes and doesn't like. He is my Father because I turned from my sins and received His Son, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior.
