Can anyone share accutane experiences?

I'm really scared about the possible lifelong side effects I have seen people describe (hair loss, join aches, sexual dysfunction, liver damage). I'm not worried about the minor effects that typically happen during the course of the drug, however I am very concerned for my health (yet really want my acne to subside). Can anyone offer me any advice?

I know I already answered another one of your questions about Accutane, but I wanted to answer this one too.

I was on Accutane for a year when I was 16 and the ONLY side effects I had while on the medication was dry skin, sensitivity to the sun, and depression.

After I got off the medication my skin held in moisture better and wasn't dry and I wasn't depressed anymore. I went back to my old self.

To this day I haven't had ANY problems like liver damage, sexual dysfunction, or hair loss. I know this might not be true for everyone who has taken Accutane, but this is what happened to me with my personal experience with the medication.

I have taken accutane in the past and I didn't like it. It did damage to my liver, increased pretty much all my levels, blood pressure, sugars, etc, lost some vision but eventually it came back and I even had suicidal thoughts. After all of that it didn't even work and they had even put me on the biggest pill that they make because I have had really bad acne. All I can say is talk to your dermatologist about alternative treatments.

I took it a few years ago and the major things that I went through were headaches, nausea and an extreme sensitivity to sunlight ( we are talking hung out in the sun like an idiot for 20 minutes and ended up with burns so bad it was like sun poisoning). I also had some really strange side effects like moodswings and depression so make sure you talk to your doctor about it cause there were reports on the internet about suicide. Do a google search, I think it was like 10 years ago maybe! Good luck

My brother used it for about a year and he got some back pain which went away but it helped with the acne.

My high school boyfriend used it before we met and he said he had back pain and depression. but he was perfectly fine when i met him like a year and a half later.
