You didn't say where on the cat's body the spots are, but it sounds like he might have ringworm, or some other fungus. If it's just a fungus, you can use something like Lotrimin or Lamisil on the spots. I have a cat that never showed any signs of ringworm, but "gave" it to each of her kittens! When she'd clean their necks, they would break out and every licking "session" would make it worse. The mama cat must have been a carrier, is what the vet said! The fungal meds worked, and the hair grew back.......after they went to new homes, and mama couldn't lick them anymore!! If those spots are on the chin, it could be "blackheads", that they sometime get when they eat out of plastic containers, where the food "cakes" on their chin, and they can't clean it reallly well. Just a couple of thoughts.....Good luck w/your cat....

If it is on the face, it could be zits. Or, it could be a little tumor (worst case scenerio) that can be cured if cut off. Can you describe it better, or is it possible to have a vet check it over to make sure it's OK? If the kitty feels uncomfortable on those spots, I would get them checked out. Even zits need to be treated right, or an infection could spread deep into his system.

You need to take your cat to the vet. It sounds like it could *possibly* be ringworm (which is actually a fungus, not a worm) and that is highly contagious - to people also. However, it is just not possible for anyone - even a vet to make a diagnosis on line or over the phone. Your kitty needs profession help.

The only way to find out what it is ...take it to the vet to have it tested, there is no way that any one on here will be able to diagnose the skin irritation for you. Most of the skin problems out there can only be seen through a microscope.
