Interesting that you make a distinction between Christians and Catholics. This is a trick question isn't it?

How silly--because Roman Catholics are Christian, and if they are not, the SHOULD BE.

Roman Catholics (RC for short) do not have any pass to anything. I am one and have been since I was baptized over 50 years ago. And let us get one thing really clear here--NO ONE IS RIGHT.

My husband is the son of a Methodist minister. And his mother's father was a Methodist minister. And he married an RC. WOW. And I have Hindu friends and Budhist friends and have studied world religions, which makes me a bit learned on the subject of ecumenism, but it doesn't give me a pass to anything.

You know what--if everyone would follow the Ten Commandments we would all get along great. And if you are thinking that ten is too much, try the big one--the Golden Rule.
Do unto others as you would have done unto you just about covers it all. No, sorry NO ONE gets a free pass anywhere . WE all have to live and die and do the very best we can while we are here.

What we can do is asses what we do wrong. If we see patterns, we should and really must change them. A priest is really only a shrink in disguise. He will tell the person in confession what that person should do to correct the things he or she does wrong.

However, it really doesn't take a priest or a minister to tell a person what that person is doing wrong. Most of us have a conscience, and that will tell us when we lie, or cheat or gossip or do worse. Anyone can change. WE all sin. We all do better. We all fall back into the same old bad habits. It is like working out--we have to keep on trying. And how you got the idea that RCs got a free pass is a mystery to me because we have to work just as hard at being good as the rest of you.

Read a good book on comparative religions. I am sure you will be amazed at how much we all have in common.

Catholics are christians. Secondly, there is not "waiting" at the "pearly gates" when we die. Heaven is a reality that we cannot even begin to imagine. It is so far beyond us that our intellect simply cannot penetrate its mysteries. Until the resurrection of the body there will be no "waiting" in the sense that we imagine because that is a physical reality. Heaven is not limited to time or space or matter, in a sense, it is a different way of existing that we simply cannot comprehend!

My dad always says the pearly gates.........where did this come from ?
One of the parables ?

Gospel According to Saint Matthew
Chapter 13

44 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field. Which a man having found, hid it, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 45 Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking good pearls.

46 Who when he had found one pearl of great price, went his way, and sold all that he had, and bought it. 47 Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a net cast into the sea, and gathering together of all kind of fishes. 48 Which, when it was filled, they drew out, and sitting by the shore, they chose out the good into vessels, but the bad they cast forth. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall go out, and shall separate the wicked from among the just. 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Anyways, I think you should seek knowledge of the doctrines of the Catholic Chuch.
Then also realize that Catholics ARE Christians.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. - Rev 21:21

I'd sure like to know what this "no wait" pass is. There is no such thing as a Roman Catholic who has any assurance of salvation. If you're a Roman Catholic and you think you have assurance of salvation, then you're a very bad Roman Catholic.

How do you know for sure that you're not going to purgatory? How can you be sure you won't have an unconfessed mortal sin when you die? If you *have* assurance of salvation, what are you wasting your time going to confession for?

According to the Book of Revelation?
TWELVE GATES !
NO WAITING !

What you really have to decide is whether or not you are a Christian.
ONLY Christians get to go through any of the twelve gates.

No person waits. You have a vibration rate that takes you to a place of your vibration rate after you pass thought the rest and recovery stage. Then you will go to the hall of records and review your book of life first before going to your place in Heaven.

Not according to the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

With love in Christ.
