Bruce Lee- Bruce Lee was the best in the world. He was the old representative of Chinese martial arts. He was the real fighter. He fought well and his fighting was better than acting. He was friends with the guy who played Bond in the movies like Die Another Day. Bruce Lee was a reason why people respect the Chinese more in the old days when the Chinese were discriminated.
Jackie Chan- Jackie Chan was not actually a great fighter, but a actor. He acted well and learnt English well. He was a stunt guy and was a role model to some Americans while many Chinese hated him. (I don't know why) His terrific acts in his films like in Rush Hour made him a Hollywood superstar.
Chow Yun Fat- Currently known for his role in Pirates 3, Chow Yun Fat began as an actor on TVB, Hong Kong's most popular television network. Chow was an actor, not fighter. He acted in many movies.
Jet Li- Also an actor-fighter, he was a Hong Kong citizen and went to Hollywood and acted in many films like Kiss of the Dragon and Fearless.
Tony Blair- The 10th Prime Minister of Britian, he handed Hong Kong back to China. Tony Blair wanted Hong Kong to have freedom, which was both good and bad. Hong Kong citizens were afraid of the communism in China, but being handed back is an exciting thing too as some prefer being a Chinese citizen than British. Blair has done good for the Hong Kong people.
Chris Patten- The last governor of Hong Kong, he loved the people and was local. He understood the Chinese cultures and was an intelligent man. He still often visits Hong Kong now and still loves our city.
Hong Kong Phooey- The kung fu animated guy who brought Hong Kong to many Americans.
Stephen Chow- My aunt was his classmate in 6th Grade. He was a funny person and made many funny films in Chinese and were translated to English like Kung Fu Hustle and Kung Fu Soccer.
Andrew Lau- As you may have not heard on Martin Scorsese Best Director acceptance speech for the 79th Oscars for his movie The Departed, (a remake of Andrew Lau's Infernal Affairs, a very famous movie now in both Hollywood and Hong Kong) Martin thanked Andrew Lau and corrected the mistake that the Academy said "Japan's Infernal Affairs" instead of "Hong Kong's Infernal Affairs". Lau's Infernal Affairs was considered the best film in Hong Kong history to many Hong Kong people.

The person who suggested to use optical fibre in telecommunication

Charles K. Kao, PhD - in 1966, he did his pioneering work with George Hockham (when he worked as an engineer for Standard Telephones and Cables - STC in Harlow, England) in the realisation of fiber optics as a telecommunications medium, by demonstrating that the high-loss of existing fiber optics arose from impurities in the glass, rather than from an underlying problem with the technology itself.

Since leaving STL, he has worked as director of research at ITT, Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and CEO of Transtech. He is currently Chairman and CEO of ITX Services. He is also a notable alumnus of St. Joseph's College in Hong Kong, People's Republic of China.

Charles Kao (高錕)may not be as famous as Jackie Chan or Stephen Chow but still I would like to bring up his name here.

The legendary Bruce lee - through his films he promoted martial arts "Gongfu or Kungfu" to the world.

Jackie Chan - well even President Clinton is a big fan of him. He promoted martial arts and at the same time, he served the cause of his fellow actors/actresses whenever they are bullied by the press. He has a heart for charity and has contributed a lot to charitable organisations.

Stephen Chow - I really love this guy. His films are hilarious.
But seriously, he's brilliant in film-making. Kung Fu Hustle has good reviews in HK and abroad. Now what has he done good for people aside from making films here and abroad, his gift is LAUGHTER.
