That's what I learned too. That when you go to Hell, it is just like a never ending falling pit. Dark. Hot. Never see anyone. Never touch anyone. Never be able to die. Never be able to touch the floor again. Scream and no one will care or hear. Everlasting torment. It sounds like Hell to me.

This little question happens to have a rather large amount of data to answering the question correctly. This answer is sketchy. First; there is your body, then your mind (not the brain) and you. the mind is where tons and tons of figure figure, calculate worry, supposed tos or supposed not tos, estimate goes on, thinking in words and emotions ad infinitum
You are what is aware of all this going on.
Me--I am getting to a point this think think can be going on & when I catch it and note it as not me, that prticular think quiets down or stops. It seems something to do with automatically & unknowingly energising the thoughts & thinking.
The only straight forward & workable do-able data i have found in 50 years of reading is the book Dianetics Modern science of Mental Health 1950 by L Ron Hubbard

Nobody knows what really happens after we die. Even if heaven and hell are real, nobody has a clue what they are like. We can only guess. You have made a guess, based on no evidence whatsoever that hell is a dark place without anyone around. I was taught that hell is a fire pit where you burn forever. Nobody really knows. So respect other people's beliefs, they don't have any proof either.

As is obvious from the answers given so far, people believe a lot of different things about Hell.

What is not so obvious, perhaps, is 'what people believe' does not determine Truth. What the Bible says, determines Truth.

I recommend you not be concerned what people 'believe' and instead focus your study on what the Bible says.

May God bless you and your search for the Truth.

Everyone has a different opinion, view on religion, and idea of what will happen after they die...

And who can really say? No one has legitimately returned from the dead to tell what really happens...!

It's my opinion that when someone dies, they go or have happen to them whatever they believed would happen. So, when I die, I believe that I will see all my friends and family. That might not be the same for my friends and family, though. When they die, they might think they are going to completely be wiped off the face of all existence. That doesn't stop them from being in my afterlife! It's my imagination and mind, so I'll have happen whatever I want to have happen.

I think that it depends on how you grow up and what religion you choose to follow or not follow as an adult. Everyone has a difference of opinion. I was taught that hell was a place that you go and you suffer for eternity. For example in hell you would suffer unbearable pain and just as soon as you get close to getting medicine to ease this pain it disappears and you continue to suffer for eternity.

My teachers taught me a very useful thing:

Don't believe anything that you are taught. Validate everything with evidence.

You can believe whatever you want, it just doesn't make it true or real. Search for the evidence.

Because they are lost, they take comfort in thinking other people are lost too, so they will have some company. It doesn't work that way, but by the time they find that out, it will be too late.
