will to fit in a religeous container. Can you say the same?

Ironically, religion promotes discrimination. I fear your ideals will not be met. For example, the pope just said that all that are non catholics will not go to heaven. Muslims say that all infidels will not go to heaven. So many people state that all other people will not make it to heaven that it is a commonplace.

I'm not an atheist, but I also have free will to do what is right and protest what is wrong. Nor do I need to bend my will to fit into a religious container.

What if your sense of right and wrong are the same as some religious precepts? You do not have to believe in God to know that killing, stealing, lying, cheating, envy, greed, lust, hatred, and disrespect to others is wrong, do you? But, if you just happen to agree with those precepts, does that automatically make you "religious"? What if you follow your own moral code systematically and consistently? That is the very definition of religion. According to one scripture (not biblical), even if you unknowingly follow the instructions of God, the effect is the same. And if you unknowingly disobey the instructions of God, the effect is the same. Kind of like the "ignorance of the law is no excuse" idea.

So, you can do as you like, regardless of whether or not you believe in God. The effect will be the same.

as a Christian, i have those same abilities. but realistically, i know that i won't always do what is right and willl often let what is wrong occur without protest. i'm just grateful that God's Holy Spirit works in me to actually create the heart that you brag about having.

so i guess i can't say the same cuz i'm a sinner, imperfect in many, many ways. and you should be glad that i've got Jesus to keep me under control!

Yep. I don't need to believe in an invisible man to understand that stoning people to death for adultery is wrong.

I believe in God to maintain my own sanity...without it its kinda like...ok we were put here by natural selection, and there is no hope for life after death, that would drive me insane, but I doubt life after death a lot anyway, I just hope for it.
