We live in Painesville Township, and I', not finding much luck with preschools here, so I was wondering if anyone has experience with any preschools in the surrounding areas. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Call your local elementary school, social service agencies, and churches and make a list of the programs they tell you about. Call these programs and ask what license they have, what credentials their teachers have, and what schedule the students follow. Make sure the schedule allows plenty of free choice play time as well as structured activities. Try to observe a class in progress. Don't over look Head Start. It has excellent programs in many areas and sometimes accepts over income families for a variety of reasons. Also, when you call the elementary school, make sure you ask if the school is offering Pre-K. This kind of program may be free or low cost if it is available in your area.

Go to http://www.naeyc.org/academy/web%5Fready/search/

Put in your zip code and it will help you find accredited preschool programs in your area. Keep in mind that some day cares offer preschool programs as well.
