Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

there may not have been a need as much as He probably just wanted to.

Trying to explain religion with logic is near impossible. Why does God still love us even though we sin so much? Why do bad things happen to good people.

Only God knows the answers to these questions.

If you had the power, wouldn't you want to have other people around because that would be lonely. And also a world and a universe to make, that would be interesting!

I could never understand why, an omnipotent superior being, required lesser beings to worship it.

It would be like you creating little bugs and requiring them to worship you. What’s the point? And if they don’t behave, you get out the magnifying glass and burn them up?

The whole thing makes no sense.

God created us for His pleasure. It is like parents having children. The whole universe is needed for life here on earth (anthropic principle).

It wasn't a need at all!

God doesn't need anything. Every time I come across a verse that deals with why God did something, it's because He would use it to bring glory to Himself.

Good question...was he just bored??
Maybe he has an ego that needs feeding by being worshiped?

Maybe we are the equivalent of his high school science project?
