You had to board your bird and the same person who you trusted and have boarded with before did not tell you that they had lost a bird who had stopped eating a short time before your bird arrived and had housed your bird in that same cage without having done an autopsy on their bird. As a result my Blue and Gold recently passed away of PDD. What if this person continued to breed and board other birds. I've called her vet, and called animal control. Her vet couldn't speak to me, animal control told me that they do not deal with exotics and that I should call a lawyer. So much for animal protection.

1) Bring all my receipts to a judge in small claims court. Cost of the boarding, vet bills and a ne bird.
2) File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. (website below)
3) Call the local paper and ask if they would run a story about what happened, to save other pet owners from the tragedy.

I hope this didn't offend anybody or sound harsh, but I've had my parrot for 20 years, and would be devasted by the lack of care that was taken. That is why you paid her money!

I would get out my .38, hunt her down and shoot her kneecaps.

Well, that is how I would feel if someone killed my baby.

Others have given you suggestions that are more in line with what you can legally do. Get a lawyer. You have lost money and suffered grief and loss. You will also lose many years of love. So make sure the lawyer is really understanding the seriousness of this and gets the vet's records.

I would sue. Blue and Golds are expensive birds and it was negligent of the boarder to use a cage that a bird had died in.

If my bird died due to someone else's neglect...it depends. I would never, ever out her in the hands of someone I didn't trust. I would also not let anyone keep her in their own cages - they have to come to my house to feed and care for her. (I train them up first).

If it was someone I had doubts on, I would blame myself. If it was someone who I trusted, had known for ages and had let me down...I dunno, cyanide? Tastes like almonds. I could put it in a cake.
I wouldn't recommend this though, it's kind of illegal. Call a lawyer. Talk to them and tell them you'll look after the birds currently in their care until they learn how to look after birds.

I would make sure others know of this.put up signs around her place saying she killed your bird.if she has a website make a website and state in it what she did,it doesn't cost much to make and put up a website. theirs places you can find that show you how to make up a website. It costs about ten dollars to put it on the net. report her to as many people as you can. get in her face and tell her what she did.sue her in court.you don't need a lawyer. but one would be better.theirs a small fee to sue someone.take her to court.raise heck about this.I am so sorry for the death of your bird.mine flew away and miss I her greatly
