Because the "gods" left. They return every few thousand years. Read your ancient history from all cultures and you'll see a common theme that is too much to be coincidence. Myth is really ancient history. Don't be too quick to dismiss it.

Major activity? Well, let's see ... the Catholic Church has increased from 12 members to over a billion members, in every country on earth. That's an average of more than half a million members per year for 2,000 years. That sounds pretty active to me!

The Canon of Scripture was finalized by the Catholic Church in 397 A.D. The Canon is closed for all time. Nothing can be legitimately added to or removed from the 73 divinely inspired books of the Holy Bible. Anything more or anything less is not the Christian Bible.

Joseph Smith tried to but of course people wrote him off as crazy. See thats the problem with religion no one likes it to change so it takes a damegogue just to get a large following and then you just become a new religion

Oh, dear.
Evidently, our schools have left out huge tracts of time when teaching history...
Is that a part of the campaign to "get rid of God"??

Why haven't any more chapters in the Bible? Good question! Because it is finished.

A discerning person does not allow words to flow out of his mouth hastily. He thinks before speaking and enjoys peaceful relations with others because a “mouth of discretion” leads him to choose his words carefully. When faced with foolish or speculative questioning, a man of discernment is able to ‘hold back his sayings.’ (Proverbs 17:27)

there really has been quite a lot of augmentation but there is much more in the way of changes that many find reluctance to.
