Your point is well made. Although I personally disagree with some of the Catholic doctrine, I also know many Catholics who are sincere followers of Christ. We don't let our differences get in the way of our common goal.

Did this gang even know what religious beliefs the lad had, how could they? most likely they were just in the mood to beat the heck out of someone - happens often in this world. Being catholic is nothing to be as shamed of, though many of their practices is questionable. There are far too many to even get started on that here best read the KING JAMES BIBLE one day and see where that leads a person - many to heaven. AMEN! have a fine day and continue to learn as much about your belief/religion from every text available to you.

I don't condone that kind of act at all. But, if you go through Foxe's Book of Martyrs, you'll find hundreds of acts far more brutal than that done by Roman Catholics against non Roman Catholics.

Here's a brief extract for your reading pleasure;

Sarah Ratignole des Vignes, a woman of sixty years of age, being seized by some soldiers, they ordered her to say a prayer to some saints, which she refusing, they thrust a sickle into her belly, ripped her up, and then cut off her head.

Martha Constantine, a handsome young woman, was treated with great indecency and cruelty by several of the troops, who first ravished, and then killed her by cutting off her breasts. These they fried, and set before some of their comrades, who ate them without knowing what they were. When they had done eating, the others told them what they had made a meal of, in consequence of which a quarrel ensued, swords were drawn, and a battle took place. Several were killed in the fray, the greater part of whom were those concerned in the horrid massacre of the woman, and who had practiced such an inhuman deception on their companions.

Some of the soldiers seized a man of Thrassiniere, and ran the points of their swords through his ears, and through his feet. They then tore off the nails of his fingers and toes with red-hot pincers, tied him to the tail of an ***, and dragged him about the streets; they finally fastened a cord around his head, which they twisted with a stick in so violent a manner as to wring it from his body.

Christianity and the Catholic church whence it came both teach hate as well as love . Only education and understanding can change this as the formal religions are flawed and leave much room for improvement .As the accesiblity of knowledge increases religion goes on the decline but morality will always be very important regardless.

You go ahead and smear Protestants. You explained why you did me wrong, but you did do wrong.

I take Roman Catholics to task because of their theology. If a Protestant has errant theology, then I present my case. Which I have done.

So hide behind one article if you want, but you cannot be saved by the Roman Catholic Church; which IS their doctrine.

No you cannot judge all of Protestantism because of one violent thing. If you could, then as I have shown you, Roman Catholicism has a bloodier past than all of Protestantism.

This is terrible. Protestants need to love all people, not attack someone for his beliefs. If there was a crime committed by the other one, that is what the courts are for.
