Interesting point I don't know about the Charmin though :), as for I cycle I completely agree with you. And as for being a farmer going through a drought, our farm just got done going through a drought, its over now thank god we survived so did the rest of the wilderness :), and it had nothing to do with Global Warming, its a cycle that the Black Hills of South Dakota goes through every 50 years, so global warming I think not, its a natural cycle and if people want to get off there butts and save the world what on Earth are they doing at a computer using energy saying your wrong :) ........... lol

Global Warming and Ice Ages are natural cycles the earths climate goes through. The current global warming cycle started 40,000 years ago with the biggest increase being between 11,000 and 14,000 years ago.
Enough polar ice melted during those 3,000 years to put shore land world wide under water equal to the land area of the North American Continent.
Plant life on the planet puts more green house gases (hydrocarbons) in the air every minute than all of mankind puts in the air in a year.
Eventually this cycle will build up enough carbons in the air to create clouds that will block the heat escaping from the planet and increase the amount of moisture in the air causing more rainfall, which results in lush vegetation and thousands of new species of plants and animals.
The rains will absorb the carbons in the air, take them into the oceans and cause the next global cooling (Ice Age). Thousands of species of plants and animals will become extinct. People will fret on how to stop the global cooling cycle.
After a few thousand years, most of the carbons will be washed from the atmosphere, the rains taper off, the Sky will clear and the next global warming cycle will begin.
You can't stop it, but if it makes you feel better to not contribute to the natural weather cycles, then don't.

We can stop climate change, or at least return it to within it's natural limits and we don't need to change our lifestyles to do it. You can use as much Charmin as you want, there are schemes in development which are designed to remove human emissions of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. There are other schemes as well looking at other aspects. If implemented we can do everything we're doing now and not have to worry about what we're doing to the environment.
Yes they'll cost money but with price tags as little as $0.15 per person it's not really a great deal to pay to preserve our way of life.

So, hypothetically, if you were a farmer and were in an endless drought and your land was blowing away you would just sit back, bare assed with a roll of Charmin and let your dry life get sucked out of you?

We can't really stop it but is that any excuse to make a big mess of your home? As for charmin, it doesn't really matter it's all made out of recycled paper anyway. Toilet paper is the last incarnation of paper products.

People set this climate change in motion, people can stop it.
At least the ones who have the guts to get off their butts and work to make a diffeerence. Too bad we'll be saving the rest along with ourselves.

Have to agree 100% with Ranger, it's common sense :)
Anyway if people here were so serious about helping to stop global warming, what are ya all doing on your computers hey?
Don't they use up alot of energy?

We can't stop it, but we can reduce it enough to avoid an economic disaster.
Here's the disaster that happens if we do nothing. The costs of dealing with this will cause an economic Depression that will make the 1930s look like good times.

And here's a very affordable plan to avoid that.

A real no-brainer. Even China is starting to realize that.

who says we can't stop it? where'd you hear that? we can. we should. but we aren't and we really ought to be working on that. it is an attitude like yours that perpetuates the problem. if we could all just recycle a little, do the little things.. it would change so much.
