i don't own the cats, otherwise i woulda found a way to silence them myself. so here's what's going on: outside my window, down in the street, there are 2 or more cats that are either FIGHTING or F*CKING in the middle of the night, while i'm trying to SLEEP!
how the hell do i shut them up & keep them quiet?
or at the least get them out of my neighborhood?

ok, let me clearify myself.
i only would harm the animals as a last resort. that's why i asked the question in the first place!
& the only harm i'd do is shoot them with a pellet (BB) gun. cruel, maybe, but I NEED MY SLEEP! & no, earplugs don't help!

Get a dog to chase them off.......... Call your local animal control officer to come get rid of them.

Pellet guns are dangerous and can kill cats, so forget that.
Trapping them for the animal control will NOT get you in any owner's good graces, it's illegal in some areas anyway especially if you suspect the cats are owned. You'd be open to a lawsuit depending on how pissed off the owner is.
Yes, cats yowl pretty bad. The female goes out of heat within 2 days of breeding so the yelling should stop. Males aren't interested in females NOT in heat. I haven't known the sound to go on for more than half an hour actually (I live in the city, we do hear it here). At least they're not as persistent as perpetually barking dogs.
Turn the radio on and wear the ear plugs. You'll be able to get to sleep that way by drowning it out with white noise. Make sure your windows are shut (yes, it's obvious, but still--). If you have head phones, put them on - with or without music.

When I hear cats fighting outside I usually throw a cup of water out the window onto the concrete. The sound always scares the 2 of the off. I would not trap them or call the pound because they could belong to someone. A lot of people let their cats outside rather than bringing them in for the night.

Late at night go out and tape some anonymous little posters to the street poles which tell it like it is and demand that the owners of these cats keep them inside at night otherwise you will be calling the local authorities to come and catch them and take them away. I hope the owners take notice and keep them in because that would be a sad thing to happen for the cats. People who let their cats out at night to fight and run amock and be in danger are ignorant and cruel.

I am a owner of nine house cats and I never hear them because I sleep with a fan on all year around. You could try that or get one of the sleep things that have different sounds. Good luck? PS...you could take a water gun "some of them shoot really far" and open your window and soak them...after a few times they will stay away from your street and you don't hurt them and it isn't against the law!

probably the latter, ok get a HUMANE trap(the ones used for raccoons and possoms) and put a can of at food in it, set it up were the to cats are, when you catch one(or both) u can take them to the nearest shelter or relocate them(make sure you go far away from your place or they'll just come back.

why, are you so mad about those cats , maybe it youre next door neighbors cats then to keep their cats out doors at nights. . maybe you should ask them if they do own any cats that you had seen before or even heard them meow . i have cats anda dog but i never had any problems with ny of my neighbords whom does leave their cats outside. maybe where ever you do live at then must always making aloud noises everynight lol . if you dont want heard anymore noises from the cats then you can do these things for yourself . one you can shut youre all youre windows or even put ear plugs in youre ears to not hear aloud noises out side. or even turn little bit music on durning the night til youre in bed . leave it on so that you cant heard them meowin . i odnt think the traps cages wouldnt work case cats are smart they can easly ascape from the cages . it sound so curest doing that if you arent working as aminals caughter. and plus other wild aminals can get into it at nights in the dark .

Cats can be loud creatures. How would you silence them if they were yours? I hope you're not thinking of something mean.
Try trapping them and try finding a NON-KILL or NO KILL shelter in your area and see what they say.

call your local animal control. they can come set up traps to catch the cats. this should be a free service. but just so you know, once they're caught they will most likely be killed; but i'm sure this won't bother you in the least.
