What are the nationalities of the majority of the Canadians?

I am curious to know because i know the French discovered Canada first then the British took it over, so are the nationalities of most of the people french and british? or other?

I think it is mostly in Quebec where the French are. If you are asking nationality, the majority would be Canadians. But then you probably meant ethnic origin - - -, I would say British.

Actually it was the Native Canadians that first discovered Canada lol. Everyone seems to forget that. But as to nationalities I would guess many are of British heritage and then in Quebec and Ontario and other Eastern provinces there are many of the French heritage. But in this day there are so many of different cultures it makes Canada a truly wonderful place to live!

Canada is a very diversified country with nationalities from all over the world. It would probably be easier to answer your question if you go province by province. As a Newfoundlander and Labradorian, I can tell you that the ancestry in my province is a mixture of Irish, Scottish, British, French, Spanish, Portugese and Inuit. I think I covered it all.

Native Indians migrated to Canada from Asia, then the Norwegians, the Vikings were the first "white" people to live in Canada. Until the indians killed them.

As for nationality I suppose Canadians are Canadians. My grandparents were Norwegian and Swiss.

Actually, the Norse discovered Canada. They just didn't hang around very long.

The French, then English, arrived within a couple of years of each other, shortly after Columbus "discovered America". I honestly think it's safe to call it a tie. (My own ancestors came here, from both parents' families, in the early 1600's - one family from France, the other from England).
