I was reading news stories online and came across one about a cat. Apparently, two girls set an 8 week old kitten on fire, and while the cat was squealing in pain the girls were laughing. HOW can anyone be so disturbed!?!?! Thankfully, the kitty survived but the tips of his ears and his tail had to be amputated.

If you ask me, I think it's only fair that those girls be set on fire for their punishment

Yes, I read that story yesterday. That is so horrible to treat an animal that way. Those girls are inhuman, I hope they get what's coming to them. Cold, heartless idiots!

Amen to your last comment! Being set on fire would be a good punishment wouldn't it? I hope those stupid girls get taught some kind of lesson, hopefully they will never own a cat or any animal for that matter.
I'm glad the kitten's ok. Those girls are absolute idiots and should be kept in a dungeon till they die.
Sorry. I cannot stand animal cruelty and am probably going to have this answer and points taken off of here for answering the way I did. But oh well.

Wow, that's terrible. If I ever met those girls I would definitely give them a few swift kicks to the face and maybe run them over with my car. I just don't understand how someone can sit there, and just think hey!, LET'S CATCH A CAT ON FIRE! That's f-ing ridiculous. And the worst part, the girls will probably get $100 fine. They should have to pay the vet bills and at least do some community service, preferably at an animal shelter (being closely supervised). Wow, I;m just disgusted by this whole thing.

This is very sad...but setting these girls on fire will not stop them from being sadistic.
Some people think that micro chipping or putting a collar on an animal is cruel.
These 2 little girls should be in therapy and the parents should be investigated for child abuse.
After reading the article....the entire Sonoma County should be investigated & swept clean of hallucinegenic drugs.

People like that in the world is the reason why I'm practicing Veterinary Medicine and not working with humans...the part of the article that upset me the most was ....

I hear ya sister. Some people are so cruel. How would they like it if someone did it to them? I sometimes watch Animal Cops: Detroit and some of the things done are outrageous. Like, leaving 10 or 20 cows and 1 donkey on the side of the road for weeks without food or water. The girls who hurt that poor little kitten should pay for its treatment. That kitten couldnt fend for itself.

I think that the girls should be placed in juvy until18 and then transfered to an adult prison until they are at least 30. And I think that thier families should be extensively looked into. No child of any age just comes up with torturing something. They had to get that behavior from somewhere.

I am sure the girls will only get a slap on the wrist for this but in my opinion I think they should have to repay the vet bills not their parents but them let them have some responsibility for their actions on this poor little kitty

I hope the authorities take this seriously. It is a proven fact that young people who abuse animals often grow up into pychopaths like serial killers. Pretty scary. I hope the kitty survives and finds a loving home.

The worst case I've read about recently was the two brothers who taped a puppy's mouth shut and its paws together and put him an oven and let him burn to death. Apparently the dog was clawing and trying to get out and they just laughed and let it happen. The idea that two people capable of something like that are allowed to live is so ******* appalling to me that I get physically ill when I think about it.
