I think we need to repect the body that God gave us. The body is like a temple. So, one can infer that treating your body in anyway that is harmful, is disrepectful as well. I think cremation is disrepectful. However, there are exceptions to the rule. In Japan, there is no room to bury the body, so cremation is the only option, and therefore acceptable and not disrepectful to God.
