I changed my cats litterbox on Monday, now its Thursday night and she still hasnt used it. She has never done this before. Is there somthing wrong with her? Shes almost 4 years old so she is litter-trained.

She is an indoor only cat.

She's probably going somewhere else.
She might not like the litter if it's different than before. Or, if she has a urinary tract infection, she might associate the litter box with pain.
If she doesn't start soon I'd call the vet.
Hope your kitty is OK. I have three of my own.

Well something is wrong. By the way, you should be scooping it every night or at least once a day to keep it the most fresh! She just might not like the litter anymore.
Chances are if she's going other places she might have something wrong with her. I had a cat that had problems peeing in places other than the box and also very little in the box! The vet took a syringe full of his urine and did some kind of test on it. He had crystals in his urine which isn't good. He had to go on a special diet. First it was a prescription diet from the vet. That got to be too expensive so we switched to Purina One Urinary Tract Formula and he's been fine ever since.
Get her checked out is my advice.
Good luck!

Sometimes when you change the box a cat will get offended if you have changed the placement or the actual box itself. If this box is not new I would suggest this...what did you use to clean it? It could be that the cleaner is a little too strong and she does not like the smell. Also it could be a psychological thing...are you spending less time with her, has anything else in her routine changed? Cats tend to be very sensitive creatures and they tend to show the anger or disappointment by acting up such as going to the bathroom in places other than her litter box. If none of these situations apply then I would suggest having her checked to see if there is an underlying medical situation like worms or a urinary tract infection. Good luck with her and take care of yourself and your friend.

You say you cleaned her litterbox, but you didn't say what you cleaned it with. It could be that she doesn't like the smell of whatever it was....if you used Clorox or Lysol, etc, and the box has a lid, the smell would still be pretty potent for her sensitive nose! You need to be sure to let a newly cleaned litterbox air out, before putting new litter in it. If you moved it to a new location, that could be the problem, too. Since you say she's going other places, it sounds like there's nothing physically wrong.....just psychologically! I hope this helps.....

i don't think that there is anything wrong with your cat. what i would do is if you still have the old box, set it back up as well as the new box. if you have changed the litter as well, i would go back to the old litter. i just went through this with my cats as well, i use Arm and Hammer super scoop fragrance free, but i tried to use multi-cat and they went to the bathroom all over the place. most cats don't like change and if it was something that HAD to be done then it may take awhile for your cat to adjust. hope this helps!!

If she is an indoor/outdoor cat she is probably going outside in someones garden. I am assuming that she is eating and drinking okay. If she had a problem she should be showing other signs, like being more tired than usual. Cats do sleep 18 hours a day. Or if she wasn't eating or drinking, or walks around moaning or if she seems to be trying to have a poop and is moaning loudly, then she needs to be seen by a vet.

Sounds like my cat in heat, but no, I don't think there's anything wrong with your kitty, he's just being a cat. Some are more spastic than others. I've had one that slept in the branches of our Christmas tree... Cats just have their own personalities, and it sounds like yours has A LOT of personality. Though I think someone else said fleas, and that's quite possible. Try calming him down when he's being spastic and tilt his neck back. If so, you'll see a ton of fleas crawling around there. Also, all cats get thinner pupils when they're hyper. He sounds cute to watch.

I 'll guarantee she's found some hiding place you don't know about & going there. She could be blocked {urianary} They get chrystalization in their urinary tract, when they do that, they dont wont to go in the litter box because the dust makes it worse. Also that's her way of telling you somethings wrong. Take her to the vet & make sure.

It's possible that she's constipated but that wouldn't explain why she hasn't at least peed in it. I would check out her hiding places to make sure she hasn't soiled them and as much of a pain as it may be to clean up, it'd be far more of a relief if she's going somewhere else than not going at all. If you find she hasn't been going anywhere take her to the vet as soon as you can. Meantime give her lots of water and high fiber cat food to keep her regulated.

Stick the poops into her litter box and set her next to it. Let her walk away and ten minutes later bring her back to it and set her down next to it, talking quietly to her.
Sometimes they just need to be reminded that it's there.
Did you use Comet or bleach cleaning the box? It could have a nasty chemical smell to her and need to be rinsed out some more.
