From Pagan worsipping of the Goddess and Catholics of the Mary and Madonna to a God and male saviour. Has Christianiy turned the axis of battle of the sexes round to favour males as it was felt unfair to males? Did women need to become ruled?

I'm sure some man has shown you these verses at some time:
Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

But, for some reason, they tend to stop there. There is more, you know:
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Eph 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

There are many more verses that indicate that a man is to love and respect His wife, even as he loves and cherishes his own flesh...but chances are, you won't hear them from behind many pulpits.
If you were to do a word search in the Bible on the terms "woman, women, wife, wives" I'd be willing to bet you'd be amazed at just how Jesus loved women, and the women loved Him. Jesus never treated any woman as a second class citizen...even the prostitute who anointed His feet, the woman taken in adultery, the Samaritan woman at the well...all of these were treated with kindness and respect by the Lord.

Did you know that, according to Paul, that famous Christian male chauvanist, husbands and wives are equal in the marriage bed?

1Co 7:3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Co 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

But these are verses that the Christian "establishment" would like to sweep under the rug. As they have so many others.

Did you know that Jesus' mission was supported (financially) by women? They went everywhere with Him, as disciples:

Luk 8:1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
Luk 8:2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
Luk 8:3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

christianity is there to show us how to live in peace, it's not meant to be a power struggle between the sexes and it's wrong to focus on just this. Women are portayed very positively in the Bible, many women have played incredibly important roles in the history of the faith. The first person Jesus revealed his true identity to was a woman, women were there when he died and were his followers before (and after) the cross. Women can do anything in the church that men can do, although some churches believe that men are supposed to be the head of the family or the church, this is a role given by God to protect women, not to hold them down. As with many doctrines, this has been abused by men in the past, but is not God's fault. We are the pinnacle of creation, God knew man could not function without us!

Many in the church are sexist but not Christianity itself.
If you look at the situation before the fall (the way God intended the relationship between men and woman), neither was better or more important than the other.

When it says that God made woman to help man it is not in a serving/lower role but the word that is translated into help is more like some one coming to help another in battle. if anything this puts woman in a higher role than man.
Looking at Jesus, he was all for woman's rights. He talked to them as equals and related to them in a way that was shocking to anyone of his time. During his time woman were treated as little more than possessions yet he ignored what the rest of the culture thought. If it was, that woman were to be ruled by men after the fall (which it may not have been) then Jesus put a clear end to it.

Christians are pretty poor examples of Jesus. Look at what he had to say and if you feel he is in conflict with what Christians say then follow what Jesus says. Tho make sure you are not putting your spin on it and taking it out of context.

Christianity is born out of patriarchal societies. Jewish law is more balanced in favour of the womans role, particulary in the family unit.
The Roman Catholic Church was established by the Romans who gave women few rights. In general women were considered were the property and responsibility of the father or husband. It was only in very rare circumstances that this was not so.
Women have never needed to be ruled and very few have the desire to rule others. It is the instinct of men to conquer and divide.
The Christian Church will never get its house in order whilst it is run with such inbalance. If it can only see women as virgins or whores and not as fully functional sexual beings who have a place in society.
Both men and women are of equal importance to society and life. We all have something to give and can learn from others. It should not be about equality but balance and adjustment.

Christianity, in the wrong hands, can become sexist--much like Islam and Judaism. Any religion that subjugates female wisdom and the necessity of a woman's voice in raising children is illogical, and historically lacking. The balance of men's and women's strengths in the Chistian Holy Bible is plain for those who can interpret it properly: men and women have an equal share in living and accountability, just different ways (roles) to go about it.

Four quarters equal ten dimes--each are equal to a dollar--they are equal, but different. So are men and women; not the same, but equal. Each have different qualities to bring to the fight; but the fight is won best when those differences are combined. What God would not encompass these disparate qualities? I think we have no idea what God is, and are still struggling with the concept. Alien scientist? I don't know, but I'll keep seeking....

The Hebrew word that is translated as "woman" literally means "female man". In God's view neither the male or the female are superior to the other, but they were designed and created to function as a team. members of a team do not all have the same job to do. If you are driving across country in a car do you think that it would help if the car had two steering wheels? What would be a good idea is for one person to steer and the other person to read the map. That's one example of teamwork, and because one person "helps" the driver by checking the directions doesn't make the "helper" inferior in any way. One area that is obvious in that respect is having children . It takes the equal participation of both husband and wife to begin the life of another human, and from the standpoint of the Bible both are responsible for raising the child to become a happy and responsible adult.
Creating the Male first would accomplish a couple of things; for one thing he was given a job to do. He was to be a caretaker of the beautiful garden designed by God that he was placed in, and he was to manage all of the animal creation as well, and as part of that job he was told to name all the animals. How long do you think that it would take to name the ancestor of every animal living today? Adam would have time to note that each of these animals had a mate, and he no doubt observed how they reproduced. Don't you think that he wondered where his mate was, and he wondered how he could take care of his job all by himself? What Adam needed wasn't someone who was in subjection to him. He had animals like a dog or horse that could keep him company, but what he really needed was a partner. That is why when Jehovah created the woman she was also called "a complement": that is something that makes you complete, or whole. So when the woman finally came to him he could really appreciate her all the more as the best gift that God had ever given him, and since Adam was older and more experienced it was also natural for Eve (it means mother) to look up to him with respect. The Bible often speaks of a wife as being "owned" but that doesn't mean that it is talking about slavery, since husbands are also spoken of as being owned by a wife. So the husband should really appreciate and cherish his wife and treat her like his greatest gift, and a wife should respect her husband, and both of them should work together as a team and appreciate their differences.

not all pagan's worshiped goddesses, that's a modern myth. the pagan pantheons were full of gods and godesses but nearly always headed by a male father god.

Roman Catholiscism is a cult with little to do with Christianity.

Jesus gave two commandments to live by. There is no sexism in them. Nor is there any sexism in the Nicene creed.

You a confusing churches with christianity, they are not the same thing.

Well yeah. Original sin was a woman. The person who cut off Sampson's hair was a woman. Lot's wife, who didn't even have a name, was turned to a pillar of salt.

Very much so. What are the odds of a lowly female ever becoming Pope? Cardinal? Bishop? Priest?
