If life typically comes from a female, and some believe god caused life, then why is god portrayed as a male?

A new life comes from male and female. God is not portrayed as being male, He is portrayed as being God, and males were made in the image of God.

You've hit on something important here. The philosopher David Hume explored a similar idea in his book, Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion. If all life is supposed to have been designed by God, then why don't we suppose that God is female, since all our experience tells us that only women can create life. By that same token, why not suppose that God has eyes, ears, hands, etc, since all we've ever experienced of design is from material beings, and never pure mind acting on matter.

Because this is a male driven world. And we see the female as weak, even though she gave birth to every one on this earth. We do not respect the feminie aspect of God. god is certainly both Male and Female.

Actually, I find it politically incorrect to associate sexes with God. If God is not human, how can we assign The Most High God with gender? This is wrong.

God has no need of gender, s/he does not reproduce.

Because the Bible says it's the male that passes life on, the female bears the life that the male generates. That's how sin came to all because Adam passed on that sinful life to all his descendants.
