DO NOT APPLY HEAT TO THE CHEEK!!! This will cause any possible infection to be drawn out into your jaw and cheek causing even more problems than you need! The infection must stay isolated around the tooth. If you in fact do have an infection you MUST see the dentist. They may need to prescribe antibiotics and possibly incise the infected area's tissue, which in some cases can contain puss and blood if infected. It is not something to take lightly! Sorry to be so straight forward but it's reality.

Take an Ibuprophen or similar anti-inflamitory med and if you are in pain call your doctor to get in on an emergency basis to at least get you comfortable.

Best of luck, take care of yourself.

USE A COMBINATION OF AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDICINE (ADVIL OR NAPROXEN) AND WARM MOIST HEAT, LIKE MICROWAVED MOIST TOWELS.
IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL DAYS FR THE SWELLING TO DECREASE.
THE SWELLING IS/WAS CAUSED BY A TOOTH WHICH A DENTIST NEEDS TO REPAIR.
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT A.S.A.P. GOOD LUCK.
