Of course. anemic is just low iron in the blood. Most people that seem to be worried about it are pregnant or nursing woman which is why you hear so much about woman being anemic. But any body can be anemic. A simple test can tell like testing your blood sugar. And just so you know if you smoke it will make your iron level read higher so if your a smoker let the Dr know when they test you because it might be in a normal range but still be low since you smoke.

Males can be. Illnesses, medications, nutrition and excessive caffeine(soda pop or coffee drinks) consumption can contribute to this.Men's vitamins normally do not have near the iron content than ones for women do because women lose the iron every month through menstruation. Some illnesses can cause stress on the body causing it to lose iron faster, lack of nutrition combined with stress can cause your body to become malnorished and anemic. Caffeine can block iron absorbtion in the body. So if you are an excessive coffee or caffeined soda drinker(or even the energy drinks) it can block the iron from the food you eat from becoming absorbed. Lists of good iron sources in food are available online and when cooked in a cast iron skillet it will increase the iron more in the food. If you feel that you are anemic consult your doctor so they can track your health issues to determine the cause.

Males can be anemic. It is more common in woman because of blood loss through the menstrual period, but anyone can be anemic.

Males can be anemic if their diet is insufficient in iron, or if they've been in an accident and have hemorrhagic anemia due to large quantities of blood loss. Pernicious anemia also affects men, as well as women, and it's caused by a lack of vitamin B12, or the intrinsic factor required to absorb vitamin B12. There are several other types of anemia also that can affect men.
