Sending Text and that is OK, but straight or gay, its all about RESPECT - how you treat the other in your life.
How do you act towards him when your together? How do you talk about him when he's not there?
Do you consider that what you do/don't do can and does effect them? Do you think "How would they think/feel about......" before you do something?
Before making the important decisions - whether it be about money, vacations, moving, work or whatever, do you KNOW what they think and feel about it, and take that into consideration?
Do you ever do anything in spite of, or for spite of the other in your life?
Do you talk to, and treat them like they are important in your life, or as a nuisance sometimes?
Do you ever put yourself a little bit out, so that they can have what they want too?
Are you faithful and honest in your dealings with your partner?
Are you YOU when your with them?
The most loving thing you can do is offer yourself - warts and all - to your partner. Let them in on the bad as well as the good times. Let them see you are venerable, that you trust in them, and your relationship, enough to be open to them.

If he sends you texts and tells you he Loves you every day, and his feelings are true, then you have done enough.
BUT, a little gift or surprise here and there never hurts. Buy him some flowers or a CD or pay for a date to some really nice place.
One way to show ANYONE that you TRULY Love them is to take that person to do or see something or someone that you would rather not. If he likes country music and you don't, take him to a country concert. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are on tour right now.
Do something that he likes and you do not. That will show him that you are willing to be there for him whether you like it or not.
Have a good time.
Best of luck.

Don't worry about ways to show him you love him.... All everyone wants is respect, love, caring and BEING A GOOD LISTENER (and a good sense of humor). All the rest is unimportant if you don't have that. Just BE THERE for him and he will know how much you care!!!

Everyone has their own way of showing it, and then some people are more naturally demonstrative, The fact that you're posting a question bout it shows you care. And you could just tell him.

Ust the little things...plan romantic trips out or in, do something they really enjoy, send them flowers or arrange for flowers to be delivered to there work, or if they normally get the bus home, be waiting outside to pick them up. Make little presents...like a mix CD, or a photo album of all the fun times u have had together. Be affectionate and dont care who sees.

There's a beautiful book called "Love Speaks It's Name", of gay love poems. Give him a copy.

Leave cute notes for him. Send flowers. Make him dinner. Do little thoughtful things. Always remember than actions speak louder than words. :)

Set up a romantic dinner and give him flowers. He should think it's pretty sweet and appreciate all you went through to do this.

I answered a question very similar to this ages ago. This was my answer.....
It's good that you want to make sweet gestures like that.
I've been with my hubby for 19 years & still do soppy things. Last week I left a big chocolate heart on his pillow when I went to work for him to find when he came home from work tired. Send him text messages to say you miss him when you haven't seen him all day. Leave notes around the house. One of my favourite places to leave notes is in the glove box of his car cos he always leaves his radio in there & I know he's sure to find it. Tell him...I tell my hubby every day I love him & he does the same with me.
It's 3am, I work lates, he works earlies, I don't work today so I stayed up so I could make him breakfast. Have to go now, his alarm just went off.
