An IRAQ LIFE

You stay up for 16 hours

He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.

He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.

He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.

He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.

He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.

He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

You complain about how hot it is.

He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

this is to those who do complain

As someone says on another section:

"If you don't stand behind our troops, please, stand in front of them."

No country is immune to economic laws. You cannot spend $3 billion a week endlessly without going bankrupt. The Soviet Union no longer exists because it went bankrupt. The US is a much bigger and healthier economy than the USSR was but it is not immune to economic laws, either, and it has now run up a debt of over a trillion dollars to just Communist China alone financing this war. And you can't make millions, or even billions, of enemies all over the world without running the risk that some of them will hit you very hard and cost you a lot--millions or billions of people who would never have even thought about taking revenge against America before Mr. Bush started his war. I am not whining and complaining about the war. I fear for the country's future. I love this country. I want it to continue as the blessed thing it is, for as long as possible. Unfortunately this war might end it long before its time. This is not complaining, this is concern about the future of a country I love very much. And the military should never be used just to settle a personal score such as Mr. Bush's personal hatred of Saddam Hussein--their lives, their time, are incomprehensibly vastly more important than gratifying Mr. Bush's personal spite.

I don't see how anyone can not support the troops. They may hate Bush but at least have the decency to have some support for our brave soldiers over there that are leaving their family behind. Some don't even want to be there. That is a beautiful poem and I give my 100% support and prayers to every soldier over there.

Thank God for our troops and all the service people who have always protected our Country.

In all honesty, we cannot even imagine what they go through, and as we all sit in our comfortable chairs, at our computers, some in air conditioned offices or homes and complain, it makes me more aware of how many morons we have in this country who fail to realize what these troops go through and fail to be appreciative of them.

God Bless America and our Military, Military Families!

sure, i could call and say, "hi, happy Birthday! i know you're busy, yet I basically needed you to properly known i'm thinking approximately you and want you have a great day!" provide him a 2d or 2 to thank you, then end the call. do not grasp on the telephone consistently, attempting to think of of issues to assert and including, "So, umm, like, you recognize..." Get on the telephone, communicate quickly as in case you have a million,000 different issues to do right this moment, get off the telephone. If he needs to speak to you, he will call lower back.

I don't do all these things, but I understand your point. I personally think the troops are the greatest people and I stand behind them 100%.

Many do complain and many do make accusations. One has even caused me to give my own response to such complaints in my own blog, which is dedicated to the War on Terror and not my own exploits.

They are my heroes.

There are a lot of democrats who feel the same way are are tired of the constant sedition and socialism.

If my daughter decides to join the military, my wife and I are agreed. We will not be "supportive".

We'll be damned proud!
