I have a male cat that is neutered, well every so often or maybe even just when he gets excited my cat leeks a cloudy white liquid from his butt and smell is the most horrid thing that i have ever smelled. When he is sitting somewhere and does it the whole area smells like it. I dont understand what this is and why it happens. I know male cats spray but like i said he is fixed....ANY ANSWERS?

It is coming from your cats anal sacs, which are scent glands. Here's more info about them:

My cat did that too. Even though they are neutered they still have secretions. You might call a local vet if you want more information, they will probably give you a better answer than I can and they will probably tell you over the phone without the cost of taking the cat to the vet.

It's not spray, but it could be impacted anal glands possibly?

Can you give a call to the vets and ask them this question? They'd be the ones most likely to know the correct answer, and it won't cost anything to check. Call several vets, just to get confirmation on the answers.

what you are seeing and smelling is coming from his anal glands, they are scent glands on each side of his rectum. If it only happens when he gets excited or even scared, this is normal. A small amount of this usually comes out with each bowel movement. Sometimes the anal glands can become impacted and will need to be express by you vet. Sometimes a high fiber diet will help with this problem, a more bulky stool will help him express it with bowel movements and less will leak out at other times.

I don't know what that would be but it doesn't sound normal. Better take him to the Dr. I have 2 male cats, both neutered and I have never experienced anything like that.

Being fixed will not stop him from spraying unless you had him neutered before he started spraying. Once they've learned to spray it doesn't stop after being fixed, unfortunately. You might want to take him to the vet though, it very well could be an infection.

I got two words for you Anal Sacs. Animals have them to scent territory though you cat may not be expressing them intentionally. It does smell really awful! Cats are not usually that bad but it is possible for them to get abcesses in them- they normally smell really bad but that is truely one of the worst smells ever. Veterinary Tech's live in fear of them- its so hard to get the smell out!
Sometimes animals have to have them expressed at the vet because they can become blocked. This is most commonly at dog problem but I have been unlucky enough to deal with it in several cats, too.

He might have an infection and i suggest you get him checked by a vet ASAP.
It might not have anything to do with be neutered or that he is in heat or whatever.
It could be something wrong internally with his bladder, digestive system or kidneys. It could also be some external around that area. If you want to be sure what it is exactly please get him to a vet. It can be dangerous if he licks it, or if it can effect you or other people (and cats) in your home.

it is mating season and male cats mark their territory religiously, so that's what he's doing, telling other males to stay away. He is also marking to show female cats that he is available to mate. He doesn't know he can't have babies!
You can shun him though. Every time he sprays you smack him on the nose, say NO and put him outside. He won't do it inside anymore.
male cats do that allllll the time.

I think it is the secretion produced by his anal glands. Males and females both have anal glands.

Normally they empty themselves but sometimes they need to be emptied externally. A vet can do it for a small fee which, in my opinion, is worth the money.
