I bank with Wells Fargo bank, so where can I find an ATM that will work with my card? Are there Wells Fargo banks in Canada, or are there other ATM machines that will work?

Oh, and one more thing. Do you know how much they charge you to exchange?

no Wells Fargo in Canada that I've ever seen. Most ATMs should work; match the logos on your card (NYCE, Cirrus, Star, etc) with the ATM in question.

These days, most ATM network work with each other. I have an obscure US bank and never had a problem in Canada,

Use Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) ATMs whenever possible; they do not charge a fee.
Others usually charge C$1.50.

While traveling overseas I was charged a "foreign exchange fee" when I used the ATM.

Anyone using Amex in another country will notice they are also charged a foreign exchange fee on their purchases.

I dont believe VISA charged me this fee when I was in China. I didnt see it on my statement ever.

There are Wells Fargo banks in Canada but if I were you I would check for locations on the internet.

Your card may be blocked. You need to call your bank and tell them you will be using your card in Canada at atms.

If your atm card also has a MasterCard or Visa symbol on it.

You can use it at merchants that take those card. Note, make sure you tell the cashier to force it to run over the credit card network and not the interac network.
