I need to whip up some frosting fast, but don't have any vanilla!! Is there anyway that I can cover this chocolate cake of mine?

EASY FROSTING FOR 9 X 13 INCH CAKE
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (1 stick) or 1/3 c. shortening
Add cornstarch to milk and cook on low until thick. Set aside and cool. Beat butter or shortening, add sugar and beat until creamy. Add milk mixture and beat until creamy. Spread on cake.

Just leave out the vanilla or use a little rum or almond extract if you have it instead.

Use a little hot coffee and butter in your frosting. No other liquid, just coffee. Makes Mocha.

Try a little fresh lemon or Orange juice
gives it a fresh citrus flavor and goes well with chocolate
