there are a number of possibilities...the phone company could have disconnected your line accidentally, the phone cord from the phone to the outlet could have been damaged (dog chewing, vacuuming over, etc.) if you have checked everything and nothing else works, you may have to call the phone company and report it...i had that problem last winter when the phone company inadvertently showed me as moving out, and it was someone else who had requested the change in service...it took almost 2 months for the phone company to straighten it out...hope it doesn't take that long for you...good luck!!!

take a known working corded phone outside to the NID and plug the phone in here... if you have dial tone there, then the problem is inside your house.. if there is no dial tone there, the trouble is outside.. call your local phone company to repair the line...
if you provide more info i can assist your further...
when you dial into the number is it busy goes straight to voice mail, or does it ring?

As Mr. Bean says, all the possibles: Unpaid phone bill or mix-up on billing. Bad phone. Bad wiring in the house. Bad wiring to the house. Call the phone company for them to check it out.

I love people who expect people to help them when they provide no information.
My answer to your incomplete description is a question. What have your done to validate the phone line is dead and what sort of troubleshooting have you done to address the matter?
Without more data there is nothing we can do.
