No you are very wrong , even if you say an asteroid might hit our earth and creates Armageddon you are very wrong . Today space faring nations , USA , RUSIA , EUROPE , CHINA , INDIA and JAPAN all have successfully developed launch capabilities , powerful telescopes , interplanetary radar detection systems , advances in astronomical science in mapping and predicting stellar asteroid , planets and comet movements in Universe. - If such a potential stone is moving towards earth , today it can be detected and either get it destroyed with a nuke or shift its path of movement.

besides for eons such stones called asteroids were pulled away from earth by Jupiter its immense gravity that pulls any such stones towards itself protecting our planet. Thats why life persisted on earth till today.

another way for speeding asteroids get diverted is by our earth's immense magnetic filed which shift and diverts the speeding paths of such astroids from hitting the earth.

Human race will not extinct - they are now learning to explore outer space, there are 6 space faring nations with all focusing on one main intension ( to explore , exploit and conquer outer space ) . The are 400 billion sun ( solar system) in our galaxy system and hundreds of billions of galaxies in the universe - its only a matter of time humans from earth learns to EXPLORE and COLONIZE universe eventually.

And humans race will not extinct as you claim ,
but according to astronomical science and theory, our earth will stay for another 2 billion years before get consumed by our expanding SUN ( supernova ) - obviously by then humans have long moved out to explore , exploit and colonize outer space. And humans race will not extinct as you claim ,

have a nice day

There are a few possibilities:

1. A large asteroid will hit Earth and destroy all life.
2. A nuclear war will destroy all life on Earth.
3. The human race will evolve into something else (while I consider evolution to be a fact, I do not have enough faith in the human race not wiping itself out to consider that this might be a serious possibility).

Well someday billions of years from now the sun will turn into a red giant and engulf the Earth and kill everyone unless we move to another planet. There are no other predators on Earth that can kill us all except for other humans(some sort of Nuclear Holocaust). If aliens came I guess they could too but thats very unlikely. Lastly a natural disaster could such as global warming, freezing, black holes, meteors and stuff like that. It is very unlikely though. But humans are animals just like everything else just very sophisticated and evolved animals.

By the cover up of a huge accident, from some government/private joint effort complex, looking for ways to kill more cheaply, and efficiently.
Variation of the plague. Similar to the plot of movie "Andromeda Strain" although made from our own arrogance, not off world germ.

there is only one asteroid that is of concern right now...I think its scheduled for a1 and 33 chance of hitting Earth in 2020 something. now, even if it does, it would come now where close to extincting the human species. but no doubt in the infinite future something will destroy the planet.

I suspect that is inevitable. Although it is possible that we could have the technology to prevent that from happening, like 'Armageddon'.

Whoa Moderation, a killer virus is scary.

Actually, I think the world will have another ice age or the world will get so hot that we'll all melt and sizzle like cheese.

Well hopefully before too much longer we'll colonize different planets (Mars, etc.) and branch out way farther, so it's hard to say.

Humans will never be extinct. We have souls; our souls cannot die. In the end, we will either be in Heaven with Jesus or in Hell with the devil.
