am i the only person who thinks that amnesty = a terrible idea?
I know it would take a while but we got some time, why can't we follow the law we have now and make businesses who hire illegals subject to the law...what a novel idea right?
you see if you make them legal they won't have to work the shitty jobs anymore and then they can get the good jobs. they can get college scholarships and qualify for other government programs...such as...gasp..welfare..which we know most of these bloodsuckers will utilize.
most of the illegals over here are the illiterate and poor from mexico..not their upstanding citizens. Unfortunately the upstanding ones are in the waiting line to get in this country the legal way.

You've got that right. This is why immigration and amnesty reform is a bad idea. In fact the companies that hire illegals ought to be shut down and fined a huge amount of money instead of just getting their wrists slapped. The chimp is now trying to pass the immigration and amnesty reform measure a little at a time as an amendment to other bills - he believes no one is watching the politics of America. What we have is a government that doesn't want to listen to the citizens and just pass any bill they want. I am against allowing the illegals in without some sore of documentation. Hell they are so anxious to get here they buy counterfeit SS # and DL and whatever else.

No you are not alone. I think politicians are just too scared to do anything, because they are afraid the legal ones won't support them. In other words, they don't have any guts.
You could stop illegal immigration by imposing stiff penalties and fines on people who hire them, by making it a felony to cross the border illegally, and by a good fence.
Could we deport those already here? You better believe we could.
Too bad the politicians can't figure out how to protect the borders.

Well, in the first place, they don't all take the "shitty" jobs. Many are highly skilled laborers and artisans who move quite comfortably into good paying jobs. So your assumption is incorrect.
As for enforcing our current immigration laws by punishing the companies who hire these folks?????
On the news tonight; there are undocumented workers who are working with companies that have FEDERAL GOVERNMEMT contracts.... And, guess what, - there is no requirement for a Federal contractor to prove citizenship of any of their workers before being assigned the contract.
Government DOESN'T CARE!!!! Government has never cared. Government knows that companies depend upon this workforce and will do nothing to impede it.

No, there are lots of us. Remember, we were the ones that were beating up the Senators with our letters, emails and phone calls. Without this pressure, this horrible piece of crap would now be with the other set of weasels (AKA House of Representatives).

To add on to your excellent reasonings, the illegal immigrants could also hurt our chances from getting decent social security money, pensions (if you get one), and its also unfair for people in other countries. I have a friend who came from Korea, and he told me he had to wait 10 years to come to America! Vote Republican.

If it was for me, the borders (Canadian and Mexican) would be open right now and everyone would be able to come in. It is God's world, not ours. Land....... whatever!
