Ah, she thought, can there be a story here?
She called out to the male, "Peace to you. Why are you sitting on that rock?"
The male turned to face her, but said nothing.
The female shouted again, "Please come here, I must ask you a question."
The male became curious. He rose slowly and carefully made his way to the sand. Still, he said nothing.
"You do not speak," the female said, "perhaps you are unable to speak?"
"I can speak," the male answered, but I prefer not to do so."
Ignoring this remark, the female continued, "I am called Elaine. What are you called?"
"This is not for you to know," the male replied. "However, you may call me by your first initial."
"You wish me to call you "E?"
"Yes."
"Peace then, E. Now, why were you sitting in such a dangerous place?"
"You are curious, like me," E said. "Therefore, I will tell you."

To E: You're kidding, right? This is a STORY. The narrator is God. He is telling a story to his listeners. The narrator always knows all.
