Have you checked online for your state's 'breed rescue' groups? That'd be the best place to start. They're always looking for homes for the purebreds they foster.

try the internet for rescue dachshunds groups in your area...may try sweetdogs4you....she sometimes rescues or has some ideas of ones available....she is in arizona

check with a local vet to see if they know of a shelter or humane society, because they usually work with them often
