Don't leave the dogs outside!!1 You can also check at the pet store for a spray to keep the flies off, but I don't know if it is wise to spray it on wounds. Ask a clerk for help finding it & read the can before buying it.

There are fly repellent pastes for dog ears available at most feed stores and most likely places like PetsMart. Your vet will have them too but it will cost more. You might also ask your vet if fly repellent for horses is safe on dogs (for the legs, etc). These are in spray bottles and are again available at feed stores and large animal vets.

Another thing is attacking the source. Flies are attracted to dung, garbage, etc. If these things can be better cleaned up, there will be fewer flies. However, this is not so easy if the problem lies with a neighbor .

I was just told by our Bayer rep today at work that the canine Advantix has just been approved as a fly repellent. She recommended putting a couple of drops on the tips of the ears, the put the rest on the back of the neck as recommended. Use monthly. She's had good feedback so far!

Were their ears cropped by a vet? Definitely take them both to a vet to make sure they do not get infected.

Intentionally cropping ears and tails is cruel and serves no purpose.

I'd keep them indoors for the most part for about 1 week until they heal up. You can put neosporin on them to keep them from getting infected and heal faster
