my daughter will be 4 on november.. i was told that she can start school this semptember. but i don't know if she is ready.
when you tell her no she starts a fight. if she doesn't get her way she scream and acts like a baby. She is potty trained has been since she was 2. But i don't think that any school will put up with her attitude.
I want she to go. she needs to be around more kids her age but everyone else thinks i should wait a year. Any suggestion?

i think that she should wait a year.

These are some of the things she has to know before going to kindergarden. My son went last year.

Her Abc's
Identify her name on paper
Write her numbers 1-10
Know how to count to 20
Begin writting her name
Know color patterns (red,blue,red,blue)
follow 2 step directions
How to use scissors
How to use glue
Count by 5's

i took this info right off of his first report card.

You must be talking about preschool. The cutoff for kindergarten is Aug 31 or Sept 1 and you have to be 5. If she's has had no other children around, she needs to be socialized....sounds like she needs to learn discipline and if you can't do it, put her in a daycare or in preschool. You thinking that no one can put up with her is a problem but it is not an excuse to prevent her from growing and learning how to behave.

Perhaps you should stop saying "no" and try tellin her what she should do. If someone told you "no" all the time, wouldn't you fight back?

I say sign her up - the faster the better.

Do you mean preschool or kindergarten, because if it's kindergarten the answer is no. If you are in the US the cut off for kindergarten in usually in September for children who have turned 5. If it's preschool, then yes by all means send her, it sounds like she could use some time with another authority figure and a chance to socialize and see how other children behave. I'm a big fan of preschool and if you have a good place for her to go, it will only benefit her. Good luck.

How will you ever know if she's ready if you don't try? Children behave much differently around their parents than they do with teachers. I'm assuming your talking about preschool, which is a very big year in the development of a small child. Try it out. I bet you'll be impressed and proud.

My son went to preschool at 3! I think it would be good for her to be around kids her age and other adults. She's gonna eventually have to go to school and hopefully the teachers can help break her attitude early on.
