My recipes are on every sort of paper product in my recipe box. The thought of rewriting them all is overwhelming. Any creative ideas??

You could either glue or tape them to index cards. Or you could get a photo album with the plastic multi-photo pages. Just slip the recipe inside each slot, and label with the recipe name so you know what's in there.

I personally have Mastercook food & wine that I use but I'm sure you can find something on line that is free if you want. This dose mean you'll have to enter everything into you computer by hand. Once you've done that it works really well. It will give you nutritional infomation and it will also make you a shopping list if you set up a menue for the week.

Instead of writing it by hand you can type it up which is a lot faster and neater when you read it later on. If you want it to look nice print it on floral or any type of computer paper and put it in a binder, so whenever you want to take out the receipe you'll have it all neatly in a pile.

Obviously, you have a computer. Do a search on shareware or freeware (freeware is free, shareware is cheap). Many sites have data managers for recipes. Download several, and try them out. Yes, you'll have to enter your recipes on the 'puter, but once done it is very easy to have instant access to all your recipes.

I have a one drawer file cabinet in my kitchen which holds all recipes in hanging folders, you can set how ever many categories you want and you don't have to type them all out. I also have warranties and manuals for all my appliances and kitchen toys in it.

i just answered this earlier, so i'll copy and paste my last answer. first though, you should type them all up and print them out. then this is what i do..........

i organize mine by catagory. breakfast, appetizers, dips, sauces, dressings, salads, soups, desserts, breads, etc.

then with main menu items i organize basic dishes by ingredient (chicken, seafood, etc.) and more specifics by ethnicity (italian, chinese, etc.)

i have a small box for 3x5s given to me, and the rest i put in binders. i put them in plastic sleeves so when i'm cooking, if i get something on them, they're not ruined.

Type them into your computer in any order that pleases you and then transfer the folder to a CD-ROM. You can then delete the file from your computer to save the hard drive space.

Stick them in a photo album, like the kind with peel back plastic topsheets.
