You can only claim your dad if you are supporting him - the fact that he doesn't work has nothing to do with it. There are additional rules too before you can claim him, but if you aren't providing over half of his support, then forget that.
You are obviously joking about claiming your dogs.
$40 of what they took out is for social security and medicare. Since you don't say where you live, or how much of the money taken out was for what, it's real hard to say if it's correct or not.

It may seem like a lot of money but it's average. Her is what u should know. When completing you W4 form u probably completed it with Single and 0 but exemption are people its a status to help determine how much to with hold. in other words what I recommend to my clients is half the year file
S/0 so that some money is taken out but maybe the other half re-complete the form by filing S/3. It's legal

Check your W-4 and see how many exemptions you have on there. If you are claiming no exemptions, they will take out more then if you claim 1. If you are single and file single, you can claim 1 on your W-4 and they will take out less money. If you aren't sure, check with your HR office or ask you boss how you can find out.
If you claim too many exemptions you are not entitled to on a tax return, you will have to pay money when you file taxes and probably penalties along with it. If you can legally claim your dad as a dependent (check with your local tax office as to what qualifies as a dependent), then you could claim him, but only if it fits those circumstances.

You can't claim your dad, but you should look at the worksheet that comes with the W-4 and see how many exemptions you can take. Just remember to take into consideration how much your tax debt will be at the end of the year, so that you don't end up having to pay in.

Unless your dad lives with you and have no income that is the only way you can claim him as a dependent. The IRS doesn't allow dogs. If your employer is taking out a lot of taxes because he/she follow the tax guidelines. If you need more money then stop spending or find another position that pays more. You must be a temp because every company pays every 2 weeks. So, go find a permanent position. It is suppose to be 90 hrs per week for 2 weeks.

No, but you should vote Republican. At least they are a little easier on taxes. The Democrats are already letting Bush's tax cuts expire, which will be an instant raise in YOUR taxes.
You cant claim a parent as a dependent, BUT your taxes are going to help some person that is too lazy to work. How is that for fair?
