Yes....I go to a place that has a special on Tuesdays...I tip the money I saved...which I would have paid had I gone on a regular day...works out to a 50% tip on the discounted price...and well above the 10% - 20 % of the normal price cut...I lose no money and she makes more than if I tipped percentage...all are happy.

Always! I always tip 20% On the other hand I do not tip on products they sell me (because the mark up is 50% and the salon is making a huge profit already).

Your hair stylist has to purchase all of her own products (shampoos, hair color, styling products), provide all her own insturments (ie scissors, curling irons, flat irons), and pay booth rental. So a little tip to say she did a good job isn't out of line!

Depends on how good of a job they do. My barber charges 12 bucks for a haircut, and does a great job every time. So I tip him an average of 3-5 bucks, and he keeps doing a good job for me. It's like insurance!

You should tip. However my hair dresser is her own employee and sets her own prices. I feel the $25 haircut if she does not wash it is enough. I tip her $2-3 if she washes it because then she has to dry and style as well.

If it's the owner of the business.. not necessary. If it's just an employee... yes. I tip $5.00 for a $15.00 haircut.
