I was just curious if other people know about this phrase so they don´t stress out about the little things, and skip some things that are not necessary for their wedding.

It is the bride's/groom's day. So as long as those 2 people are happy and content, it doesn't matter how big or small the wedding details are. I know for my wedding, my wife and I kept things as easy and manageble as we could. And we had a wonderful day. Sure, other people would have liked for us to have done things differently. But their opinions were not the major ones we were concerned with. So applying K.I.S.S. to planning a wedding is very appropriate. No need to be overly-stressed on one of the most special days of one's life.

The only people who know how to KIS just want to out-live the non-KISS folks.

Why do people add soooo much stress to their lives in an already stressed-out world!!!

Yes, weddings are special, but the best things in life are free-- go find a park and have a picnic. Ya- right-- it's all about keeping up with the Jones'

I'm keeping mine as simple as possible but I still think when it comes to planning something as huge as a wedding it's impossible not to get a little stressed. Its one of the few times in life planning an event when you can't have a do-over.

What's necessary is all a matter of opinion. For me, having a beautiful location was necessary since my top priority was having great pictures. For my husband, a good catered meal was necessary. We would have married each other at the courthouse and eaten Burger King for our reception but realized that those memories were too important for us to actually do that.

Things like personalized napkins are certianly not going to change how married you are at the end of the day but for some women having the "dream wedding" is very important to them.

For sure, because it's a matter of keeping things in perspective. As much as the couple wants to host a wedding that's wonderful, a mature couple knows that it's the marriage which is more important!

Plan a Wedding never forgetting the underlying importance of what it surrounds: 2 people exchanging vows with witnesses saying that they will forsake all others and love each other forever...no matter what.

never heard that before, but what a great idea. At first I thought you were talking about the wedding kiss! (keep the "you may now kiss the bride" kiss simple, stupid) haha.

Btw, i really liked your answer for the bridal shower question a bit ago- great idea!

This is the biggest, happiest party we're ever going to throw, so I'm not necessarily thinking simple! We're going to be reasonable about cost, and we began planning early. Neither one of us gets flustered easily, so I don't think we're going to get too stressed. We're also not perfectionists, and so it will be okay if not every detail is perfect.

LOL, I use Keep it Simple Sweetie, because I dont care for the word stupid. Funny the first time I heard it was when my sister said it to me when I was planning my wedding!

I skipped everything that didn't mean something to at least one of us and wasn't legally required...and was extremely calm on my wedding day.
