I'm having a problem with Microsoft office.?

When i go to highlight a word then try to type a new word over the highlighted word office does not erase the highlighted word. It goes to the right of the new word that i've typed. Please help. I can't find any solutions online.

it is not caused by overwrite... so the insert key dosent fix it

i have had this problem many times. just push the insert key which is right above delete.should work

Hit the insert key once.
