I was able to run up to an hour before but for the past 2 weeks I run 20 minutes and my left knee feels like it'll cave under me. I have good running shoes(new balance), i dont run very fast, i mean i pretty much just jog at 5mph for 40 min.
Please help, i love jogging and it sucks that i cant do it anymore. I can walk but i feel like im not getting any exercise even though i probably cover the same distance.

How long have you had your shoes? That could The problem. If you have worn out shoes your knees might hurt, that happens to me all the time. Also if you took some time off then started again sometimes that hurts your knees too. OR it could be the surface are you running on cement when you normally run on asfault or something to those lines. It could be anyone of these possibilities.

It might be that you were just over doing it when you ran so much and your knee was just sore, but if its a sharp pain or your knee feels unstable when you run or when you go up some stairs then you might have a problem with one of your ligaments. Try icing it at night kinda elavated on a pillow and leave the ice on for about 20 min and take it off for 10 also take some ibuprofen to help with any inflammation. If that doesnt work then i would go get an MRI just to make sure everything is where it needs to be.

Try resting first. A week off can do wonders. Then slowly build back up. If you still have serious knee trouble, go see a doctor.

Don't get overanxious. You have years of running in front of you, so take your time and be fully healed.

Make sure you are running heal to toe and you keep your ankle straight. I noticed that sometimes I had knee pains horribly when my stride was off thus resulting the joint in my knee to absorb all the pressure instead of the ball of my foot.

Most likely your knee got hurt from some thing or you dislocated the bones. I suggest that you see your Dr. because it could get very serious

Before you really "run" into a major problem I suggest you see your dr. Knee injuries can be very serious and debilitating.

You may have flat feet (overpronation). I do. Go to the physical therapist and they will diagnose you and give you orthopedic inserts.
