The Duke of Edinburgh is an ex-Navy Lt.
During the war he was second-in-command of a destroyer and, solely through his bravery - too long a story to go into here - he saved the lives of 250 sailors from being bombarded by air attack.
He did not realise he had survived for R soles like you to take the p*ss. If it wasn`t for him, and people like him, Hitler would be knocking on your door right now demanding why you had not joined his German army to kill Jews etc.
