He's not good for her at all. He drinks everyday all day and when he gets drunk he goes on these rampages. I've never known of him to hit her. He just throws things and yells and says horrible things. She leaves, but always goes back to give him another chance. She even moved out of state to get away from him and start new. She went back again. She told me if things get too bad again that she will leave. Well, I just had this dream that I went to visit. Everything seemed fine when I went in. After a playing with his granddaughters (there's really only one but in my dream there was another one). After a while, I asked where my mom was. Before his daughter could stop her my stepsister(from my mom's last marriage of 10 years) told me they were outside and my mom had been laying on the ground since he hit her. Anger instantly rushed through my body. I was getting ready to go tell her how mad i was that she didn't leave. I looked out the window and she was laying on the ground.

I couldn't see her face. It was turned away. When I woke up, I was still mad and scared! I don't know if I should call her and check on her?? Maybe the dream means something else? Why was my stepsister there? Why did his daughter have another baby there that she doesn't really have?? I'm scared, mad, and confused. Please help me. Don't be mean and don't tell me she needs to leave him because I already know that. I can't make her even though I want her to so bad. I'm just asking about the dream. Thanks ahead of time!!

Your dream could be a reflection of what you are already feeling about this guy and what you think he will eventually do to your mom. But all the warning signs are already there.

It sounds like a lot of anxiety you have regarding your mother is coming out in this dream. I know its not as easy as just telling her she should leave. But you can educate yourself and encourage your mother do a few things for her own safety. One thing she may be willing to do is to create a safety plan. This is something she can stash away so she can leave at a moments notice if things get really scaryy. Some of the items to include are; important documents or photocopies of them, money, clothes, a spare set of keys, etc. Other ways she can remain safer are to avoid arguments in rooms with only one entrance/exit like the bathroom, or avoid arguments in places where there may be weapons, like the kitchen. Here is a number for the national domestic violence hotline 1-800-799-SAFE. They will hook you up with resources that are in your area (although I'm assuming you're in America) If you like, you can email me privately and I can point you to a saftey plan and other info you might want. Good luck!

I would definatly call and check on her, tell her about the dream. I think sometimes dreams are preminitions, they don't always happen the way things happen in your dream, but there could be something wrong. Call her

im soo sorry u have to deal w/ this. idk exactly wat it means, but it sounds like ur subconsious is telling u that ur mom really needs to leave and stay away from this dude. confront ur mom that u cant even sleep at night w/o letting this affect u. maybe if she sees how its affecting and bothering u, she'll leave for good. Ur mom might get seriously hurt physically and emotionally if this continues. try to get him to check into rehab if she wants to stay. get a restraining order if she leaves and he wont stop trying to get back together w/ her. good luck, talk to the rest of ur family for other suggestions or a therepist

It doesn't mean that it's true, but you definately should get your mom out of there for good.
